  3. for example, a farmer's bull and a papal
  4. bull), may sound the same but look different
  5. (homophony; for example, air and heir; gilt
  6. and guilt), and may look the same but sound
  7. different (homography; for example the wind
  8. in the trees and roads that wind). Homonyms,
  9. homophones, and homographs seldom pose
  10. problems of comprehension, because they
  11. usually belong in different contexts. Even
  12. when brought into the same context for effect
  13. (`The heir to the throne had an air of self-
  14. satisfaction'), they are entirely clear. They
  15. may, however, be used to make puns (for
  16. example, `a papal bull in a china shop').
